  1. In these two chapters Lynn gets her hearing aids. Then the parents start to train Lynn on how to use the hearing aids but it doesn't work as planned. The family moves to Oklahoma and meet new people on the campus. The parents start to not pay attention of where Lynn is at, at all times. They lose her a couple of times but end up finding her. Lynn is starting to use the hearing aid better.

If I had a child like Lynn who was deaf I would constantly keep my eye on them. There are a couple of reasons. First, she does hear sounds so it makes her more vulnerable to get lost. Second, when you are trying to find your child you can't call there name because they can't hear you which makes it harder to find the child. In these chapters Tom and Louise are irresponsible. They need to take better care of Lynn, and always keep an eye on her.

    1. I agree with you, Louise and her husband are not being very responsible. On the other hand I feel bad for them because imagine their frustration and they are trying their best so we have to put ourselves in their shoes to understand and give them some credit.

    2. I think your right about their irresponsibility. They should have kept a better handle of the situation with her and losing her was terrible both for her and her parents. I find it hard to feel bad for the parents.

  2. These two chapters really are a turning point in the book. Lynn's parents spend 300 dollars on a hearing aid for her and they do not see any change at first. She is lost a few times but thankfully they find her and she is making a little bit of progress with the hearing aid.

I think it is a good idea for the parents to get her this hearing aid at a young age. Even though I do not know how well it will really work since she is deaf. I feel bad for Lynn and her parents when they lose her because it is extremely scary losing your child, imagine losing a deaf child where they can not hear or talk to anyone. I use to think Louise and her husband were doing a great job but I feel like they are both getting frustrated, which any hearing parents would with a deaf child. I think it is better now a days that more hearing parents are open up to sign language so they and their children have a way of communication.

    1. I agree with you on the fact that it is good for Lynn to get the hearing aid at such a young age. The reason why is because she can practice with it and become to hear better as she grows older.

    2. I agree I think that the hearing aids will help her. I think it would be very scary having a child you don't know can hear or not.

  3. After spending the money to buy the hearing aid, it does not go very good for them and they are not even sure if it's working. Her parents lose her which ends up fine and she begins to make some advances with the hearing aid.

Buying the hearing aid was a great idea and a good start for them. The parents irresponsibility with her during these chapters irritates me. I do not have a deaf child but I do have a cat that I have to keep my eye on to make sure she doesn't get outside because she could drown in the pool, get lost or get hit by a car so I think they should have kept a better eye on the situation with her. I feel like they let her down by not being there fully for her.

    1. I agree that the hearing aids were good. I don't think that they are irresponsible I mean this could happen to any parents with a hearing or deaf child.

  4. In these chapters, Louise and Tome continue to work with Louise with her hearing and show her the duck pond which she almost had an accident with. Bruce brought Lynn out to play with his friends. Lynn was able to get molds for her hearing aids.

I like this chapter because her parents are getting her hearing aids. I bet it's hard for her parents to have a deaf infant because they might not know that she is fully deaf. I give a lot of props to her parents because they are doing everything they can to ensure that Lynn has everything she needs if she is deaf. Bruce to me seems like a great brother for caring for his sister in the ways that it seems like he does. I like that everyone in the family helps Lynn with lip reading. Even though it doesn't seem beneficial now, I think that she'll learn it and have it as a good skill for later in life.
